Dr Beena Bansal
Endocrinologist & Diabetes Specialist
About
Dr Beena holds a Doctorate in Medicine (DM) degree in Endocrinology from renowned Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow (SGPGIMS) and is passionate about exploring the medicine beyond the boundaries of science, where it interacts with humanities.
During last 20 years of practise, she has realised that while doctors are rigorously trained in scientific knowledge, the patient and doctor interaction in the clinic needs an understanding of complexities of human behaviour and interaction. She conducted a series of conversations with psychologists and social scientists to address and fill this gap between training and practise. The conversations are archived here : FEM & Humanising Medicine. The need to incorporate patients experiences in creating scientific knowledge is also something she is vying to explore through an upcoming podcast.
She currently manages door to care, an Endocrine & Diabetes Clinic & Research center, which she founded in 2018 in an attempt to break away from the usual patterns of care delivery. She was previously director in division of Endocrinology at Medanta, the Medicity, Gurgaon, which a large tertiary care center. Dr Beena set up protocols for inpatient diabetes management, which is something she is still exploring through her new careops venture.
Originally from Jabalpur, she studied in Jabalpur & Lucknow, worked in various cities, and is now based in Gurgaon. She loves books, yoga, and spending time with her family and close friends.
